Where is This Mysterious Boat?!

Unbeknownst to Kate, Tim and Nathan have made plans for Tim to introduce Kate as his girlfriend...and then proceed to hit on all of the girls in Nathan's program. This should get interesting!

We just picked up Kate from her condo where the guard inside the front doors was closely watching us because as Nathan was adjusting himself, Tim and I were spitting out the water/toothpaste combo we'd been swishing in our mouths. The three of us are probably not the usual caliber of ppl to pull up under their awning. It's ok, though, bc Kate reassured the guard that we were her ride.

We just talked to Nathan's new roommate, we'll call him "D", who is actually an old friend of Nathan's. He's got a beverage buffet ready for us. However, the only food he has available is a single pineapple. Sidenote, we haven't stopped for a meal yet.

Tim's Getting a LITTLE Sleepy

7:06am: Fort Valley, GA (Georgia's Peach City)

Well...someone has had a full night of sleep...and it's me. While it was frequently interrupted to move into a more comfortable position, my slumber has been pretty steady the whole trip. Now I am wide awake, ready to drive, and even more-so ready to eat! Tim, on the other hand, is getting a little sleepy. He's been a pretty good co-pilot so far for Nathan. But now he just has to "let it happen."

My apologies...I should have given an overview of the trip that is beginning. For those people who I don't regularly keep up with, Nathan is moving to Miami, Fl. Tim and I are helping him move. By helping him move, I mean we are using this as an excuse to go to Miami and stay for free.

It took Nathan up to the last minute to decide where he was heading to school. And with a love for the Midwest in his heart, he chose Florida! Of course I always knew he would because he is the male version of me. This has been an ongoing joke for two years, but it's true. And if I had the opportunity to leave for awhile and then come back, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

We have an exciting trip planned. I've got the dry erase board ready, you know, for in case we get stuck in traffic and want to communicate with other drivers. We'll be making a stop in Ft. Laudy to pick up Ms. Kate, and we will potentially do some deepsea fishing. A couple of my friends are comin down to visit from the St. Petersburg area and Tim and I intentionally booked our seats on the flight home across the aisle from each other rather than beside each other. Obviously, this is so we can pretend like we've never met ;).

And we just started the Jason Aldean cd over again...

Miami Bound!

8:45 pm: Departure.

After Kara so kindly drove myself and Tim to the southside to meet up with Nathan, we finally hit the road. I hid behind my car while Kara broke the news to Nathan that my suitcase was much larger than the space he had allotted for me. True to his OCD form, Nathan did some rearranging and fit everything in.

Now I'm stretched out in the backseat of the truck and the three of us are gettin' our country on with Jason Aldean. A bet has already been made which is not blog appropriate. And I need to get some sleep bc Tim isn't allowed to drive in the state of Georgia...

MAKEOUT!

While tailgating in true Hoosier fashion at IU yesterday, I was wandering around the fields with a couple of my close girlfriends. Every year the mere sight of the camaraderie that happens on the IU tailgating fields makes me one of the happiest people alive. It just makes my heart smile :). As I'm taking all of this scenery in and trying to weave my way between trucks and SUV's, I nearly ran into a couple who were obviously having a "moment". They were holding onto each other by the waist (not sure if they were holding each other up or if this was just their embrace) and they were talking to each other with their faces literally an INCH apart. It took all of my might to fight back the sudden urge to run up to them, stand creepily inside their personal space, and start chanting "MAKEOUT, MAKEOUT!!" Since I understand that unless your name is Tim or Nathan, this is not a socially acceptable thing to do, so I refrained. And in the midst of my happiness, a rush of sadness came over my whole self, wishing that right at that moment my boys were with me.

On a completely separate note, another part of this exciting tailgate day was the drive down to Bloomington. As my friend and I got onto 37 heading south, we ended up behind a tiny red S10. You know, the truck that does have backseats but they are so small that they face sideways. As we were laughing at the fully grown male squished in the backseat, we wondered how, out of the three boys in the truck, they decided who got shotgun and who got to sit in the back. We followed them quite a distance and as we got into the Martinsville stoplights, I told my friend we should write them a note and hold it up to the window. The only paper we had was a very small flip-style notebook. So she wrote them a note, one word per page, and at one of the stoplights we got their attention. She was too embarrassed to hold up our notes and made me do it, even though I was driver. So as she tried to sink lower in her chair and couldn't look ahead of us I flipped through the notebook pages of our sentence. All three boys were completely turned around in the truck reading our note and communicating back to us with hand motions. It was so hilarious that we laughed until we cried. (Then we had another 20 minutes of driving to Bloomington beside them which was just awkward...and I loved it)

My friend who was with me had the BEST idea ever. She said I should keep a dry-erase board in the car for the ease of writing future messages to passing cars. Next time I am at Wal-Mart I am buying a dry-erase board because I feel like the next time I travel with Tim and Nathan we NEED this!

Just the Necessities

Tim and I made a Wal-Mart run for "just the necessities". This obviously included bread, milk, a swimming noodle, and a plastic baseball bat. Tim explained to the woman checking us out that these were, in fact, the necessities.
